I want to use this site to post lesson notes, extra work, helpful links as well as general notes about my time in SE Asia and Viet Nam. I also want to give real classroom experiences and how to deal with real classes of noisy, unmotivated and resistant students. Additionally, I'll be posting links to films, publishing plays and stories, and introducing friends who work in the arts.

Great quotes. I actually just watched Godfather in Spanish (in very slow speed). And it is more than I can bear. When I watched it long ago, I enjoyed it, but I guess I can’t enjoy it anymore.

I think one of the best scenes is actually without dialogue – Michael (Al Pacino) is preparing to shoot in the restaurant, the camera slowly closes in on his face, and the background city noise increases … excellent filmmaking.

Oh, yes, the slowness of that is so good. It goes so well with the sad music and the overall tone of the movie. I used to like it, but now I am a little too matured to like it. LOL. How our taste changes.

Most people and critics regard Godfather II as the better film, but I can’t believe that ! Have you seen the sequels ? Greetings from Sai Gon.
